Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This page explains which cookies Rent-a-Skill uses and how you can control them.
Essential cookies
These are needed for the site to work and are always on:
- ci_session — keeps you signed in and remembers messages shown after a form is submitted. Expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
- csrf_cookie_name — protects forms against cross-site request forgery. Expires after two hours.
We also store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage (ras_consent) so we don't ask again on every page.
Analytics cookies
When analytics is enabled, Rent-a-Skill uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the site. With your consent it sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<ID> (kept for up to two years) to tell repeat visits apart. If you choose "Essential only", no analytics cookies are set and Google receives only anonymous signals without cookies. Advertising cookies
When advertising is enabled, Rent-a-Skill shows ads from Google AdSense. With your consent, Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance. If you choose "Essential only", Google shows non-personalised ads, which use cookies only for purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention and aggregated reporting.

Changing your choice
Use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer at any time to change your choice. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although the site won't let you sign in without essential cookies.
